My Teaching Philosophy

The most important thing is that learning anything should be fun and engaging. If people don’t enjoy what they’re learning, it will never last. My goal always is to help my students achieve excellence in the areas they are passionate about, and inspire passion in areas they may feel apprehensive towards.

Music is a powerful tool and improves the lives of everyone it touches. It is a great way to prompt learning in many areas. Music lessons have been shown to improve cognitive function, coordination, and concentration, and can also help young people with social skills and confidence.

My music curriculum includes elements of theory, technique, history, artistry, and practical skills for students of all ages and levels. I strive to equip all my students with curiosity and the ability for both directed and independent learning, so their love of learning will continually grow.
